The word list

Chargers

GaN

GaN (gallium nitride) chargers are up to three times more efficient than traditional silicon chargers. They are smaller, generate less heat, and can charge devices up to ten times faster – thanks to improved power conversion and a compact design.

pps

PPS stands for Programmable Power Supply and is part of the USB Power Delivery (USB-PD) 3.0 standard. This allows the charger and device to communicate and fine-tune  voltage (V) and current (A) during charging.

A regular USB-PD delivers voltage in fixed steps (e.g. 5V, 9V, 15V, 20V), but with PPS the charger can adjust the voltage continuously e.g. between 3.3V and 21V in small steps of 0.02V).

This way the device gets exactly the right voltage and current, which leads to the following:

- Less heat generation

- Higher efficiency

- Faster charging

PD

A USB-PD charger supports the USB Power Delivery standard, which provides higher power, faster charging, and safer, optimized power delivery by adapting it to the condition and needs of the device. For example: iPhone 8-11 Pro Max supports 18W PD charging iPhoneSE (2nd generation), iPhone 12 and later models support 20W PD charging.

Powerbanks

mAh

mAh, which stands for milliampere-hours, is a measure of a battery’s capacity to store electrical energy. It shows how much charge the battery can hold and how long it can power a device before needing to be recharged. A battery with a higher mAh rating can therefore provide longer usage time, similar to a larger gas tank allowing a car to travel longer distances.

qi

Qi is a wireless charging that is based on magnetic induction for smartphones, tablets and headphones. Instead of plugging in a charging cable, you place the device on the plate and charging starts. When a device with a receiving coil is placed in the field, the field induces an electric current in the device's coil, which charges the battery.

Qi2

Qi2 is a newer version of the standard that has improved charging power and efficiency, and allows charging up to 15W.

Qi 2.2

Qi 2.2 has an increased charging power from 15W to 25W, which is an increase of 66%. The new standard makes charging comparable to wired charging.

QC

QC stands for Quick Charger and is a technology for fast charging batteries. It is a technology that charges devices much faster than regular chargers. A regular charger can send 5V, but a Quick charge charger can increase the voltage to higher levels such as 9V and 12V. This way you get a faster charge.

Cables

MFI

Our Lightning cables are MFi certified, which means they are verified and licensed by Apple. If your cable has an MFi label, it also means:

- 100% compatible with Apple devices

- 100% safe to use, no risk of short circuit or other problems.

- USB-A to Lightning support delivers up to 12W

  • USB-C Lightning support delivers up to 27W

Watt

Watt (W) is a unit used to measure power, which describes how quickly a device uses or generates energy. It can be likened to the speed at which electrical current passes through a cable.

Audio

ANC

ANC mode is an active noise cancellation and reduces unwanted background noise in your headphones.

Spatial mode

Spatial mode creates a 3D sound experience that makes it feel like sound is coming from all directions around you. It creates a more realistic experience by simulating how sound behaves in relation to life.
